My Favorite Memory

I have many memories in my life. It was very hard to come up with one favorite memory though. Then I was asleep in the bed and I had a dream. In my dream, I saw my grandmommy her smiling and laughing. Then I woke up and just knew what my favorite memory was. I was sitting with my best friend, my grandmommy, in her kitchen. Now my grandmommy was famous for her cornbread and she was letting me help her how to make it. I was about five years old and barely able to reach the counter tops in the kitchen. My grandmommy was mixing the cornbread and singing and we were having the best time. Then I decided that I wanted to help. So when she walked away, I reached up to get the bowl with the cornbread in it and it fell right on top of my head! I was so scared that grandmommy would be mad at me but she wasn't. All she did was look at me with her big smile and laugh her head off. So I had cornbread all over my head and by then I had gotten it all over her because I just ran up and hugged her. When my grandmommy was at the Macon Cancer Clinic I would always tell her that story and remind her of the good times we had because she had ovarion cancer so she was in a lot of pain. Then on December the ninth I was sitting beside her bed and I told that story for one last time and she smiled and said that she loved me. After she went to sleep that night I left and then we got a call that night that she had passed. The reason why this is my favorite memory is because of that great time we had that day. Another reason is because that was the last thing that I actually talked to my grandmommy about and smiled at her and to tell her that I loved her for one last time. I would never trade any memory for that one.

Joy

What brings me joy? The definition of joy is, pleasure caused by the acquisition or expectation of good; delight; exultation. My life is filled with great joy! I have a great family and friends, but the main thing that brings me joy is to make people feel happy and good about themselves. I even like to make people feel joyous. The reason this brings me joy is that seeing people laugh and feel good about themselves makes me feel proud of myself. I know if I bring joy to other people, then I have accomplished something that day. Just the other day I went to the children's home to see girl's who have gotten taken away from their homes for different reasons. When I got there and saw the joy on their faces, it almost made me cry. The reason is, those girl's were so glad to finally get a visitor, who took the time to come see them. And to know that I was the one to bring them joy, well, it brought me joy.
Who do I bring joy to? That is a tough question. First and foremost, I strive everyday to bring joy to the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the source of all my joy. I love my family and friends and through this love I hope I bring them joy. My youth minister at church says that the word joy can be taken apart like this, J-Jesus O- others Y- you.

What do you Value the Most?

What are three things I value the most? That's the question. First I value my relationship with the Lord. I go to church every chance I get. I go to my church camps ever chance that I get. I like church camp because Kaitlyn is there and she helps me with my faith. I love my relationship with the Lord because I never feel like I am alone. He is always standing near me and beside me. I can also go the Bible and get wisdom and knowledge from him. The second thing I value the most is friends. I value friends because they are always there for me. One friend that I can really highlight on is Jo Jo. She has always been there for me through the good and the absolute worst times of my life. I like friends because they are sort of like family. You know that you can trust them. You also know that you can depend on them. The third and final thing that I value the most is my family. I am the only child so all that I really have are my mom and my dad. I get mad at them sometimes and give them attitude but who doesn't ? I try to be nice and loving to them but it is so hard when you fight to just let it go. Mom is like my friend because I can tell her stuff and I know that she will not say a word. Dad is the most loving man in the world. He helps me with my softball and I am very thankful for that. I am thankful for another thing that I want to say. I am thankful for my teachers, and Mrs. C, I am not sucking up. If it wasn't for the teachers I would be dumb as a rock and could not write poems like these.

What do you value the most?

Are you scared to say?

It is ok

Is it family?

Is it friends?

Your dog?

Or cat?

It doesn't matter what others think

As long as it's your feelings

What do you value the most?

Are you afraid to say?
